Wow, the lil’ hub and I should really go around Singapore at times to try out the different food! Too bad we are a tad lazy to do that. Worse still, both of us are lazy. *LOL* But thanks to my family, friends and colleagues, I always seem to have the chance to try out nice food in Singapore. Today, we headed down to Joo Chiat during lunch time!
It was a coffeeshop on its own that sells bak kut teh. That was their main dish, but unlike most of the stalls that sell bak kut teh, there’s a lot of other dishes too, somewhat more like a zi char stall instead. There’s a small little carpark, which according to my colleague, only allows customer who are having lunch in that coffeeshop. Anyone that parked there and went to other shops will have the wheels clamped. Yes, sounds scary right?
Anyway, there’s only 3 of us and we ordered 4 different dishes – a bak kut teh, seafood omelette, kang kong and sweet & sour fish. We didn’t have to wait long though there was quite a crowd, which was good. The food was good too, I would say. The meat was soft and the bak kut teh tasted nice. Oh yes, it’s those herbal type and there’s unlimited refill of the soup.
The price was alright. Cost us around $45 for that few dishes. Not really extremely cheap but alright. Other than the location, which is located at “439 Joo Chiat Rd Singapore 427652”, this is definitely a place one can go. Otherwise, it’s actually quite troublesome if you need to travel by bus/train.
